Kinky Friedman Get your Biscuits in the Oven Partial Music Video
Many thanks to Pedernales Film and Echo Standard and the previously named Metropost Studios in Austin Texas and the Kinkster himself for letting me finish this Texas Classic Music video back in '93. This was one of the most fun projects I ever worked on, and am sorrowed by the loss of Kinky Friedman this last week in June of 2024. RIP The Kinkster, we love ya man. And I hope UA-cam will allow this shortened video clip to stay with us moving forward. A small dose of '70's Texas Sexism for everyone.

LOVE WILL PREVAIL!
My first intro to Jerry Jeff was "Backsliders Wine." "Redneck Mother" sealed the deal. 86-years-old now, haven't forgotten the words, or the good times.
The okie from miskogee rebuttal
Fantastic video!! I grew up on this music in San Antonio in the 70’s! They just don’t make ‘em like this anymore!! ❤❤❤
Brings back great memories when I was younger and rowdier!
Listening from Muskogee, OK USA.... I Identify
It takes a great level of stupidity to adopt a song that takes the mickey out of you. Good ol' boys! Up against the wall you redneck mothers!
I always thought it was funny, my dad a through and through Hippy would sing "kicking hippies asses and raising hell" with emphasis, and now I do the same.
Memories.....
Boy got a leeson, didn't he?
Well, I like this song, too. I’m no redneck mother.. More about being a rebel. Yeah! My Grams taught me well. She stood up against all that stood in her way. Yep! Even got excommunicated from her Lutheran Church. Yep! She was a full blooded Norwegian, but took no guff from anyone. She clearly knew what was was and what was not!
I’m 62 and I’ve been a Jazz musician since I was 19, I love this song so much! 🎉
what a tool! bill fink rip
68 year old man here after 50 years still listening and diggin it!!
😊 right behind you man. Every weekend hahahaha
Absolutely! Now, Jerry Jeff was a storyteller and not a philosopher about people. Yep!
I have been listening to country music all my life and this is a top ten song if there ever was one.
Being a teenager in Montana during the 70s and this song. What a time! 😆
Yep! Jerry Jeff remains a national treasure. Yep!
When was about 10 or 12 I had this record back 80s , most regret thing it feels like punch stomach, after my stepdaughter died when I was 13, my mom ask if I wanted keeps the records of all kind singers especially this one I love . I told no. Looking back wish how had all of records
High school… cold beer and Friday nights at the lake.
I had to pleasure and honor of seeing/hearing Jerry Jeff Walker w/ his band in 1973 (?) at the Main Point in Bryn Mawr (burb of Philadelphia). Grand show - friendly man - smiled at any and everyone he passed. A real sweet man.
Aaaaaah play it for momma
this and the night rider's lament reminds me of my mom
My dad listened to the song a lot
although jerry jeff wrote mr bojangles, this classic was penned for him by ray wylie hubbard.
another one: for James Terry from Jimmy K
As a black woman, I have always loved this song. I love only old country, which is why.
They rock..
Badass!
Thought this was ray wylie Hubbard's song
Yup, as noted above "- with thanks to Jerry Jeff Walker for the Luckenbach Performance and Ray Wylie Hubbard for the song -" Ray wrote it and Jerry Jeff took it on the road almost immediately.
My first concert State Fair dallas Luckenbach tour I remember the smell if ganja and whiskey. I was 13 with out parents for first time. Totally out of my element
add to this for the Cab 54 driver at Z Trtip taxi
"Falstaff Beer." Is the Shit-Magellan, I mean its gorilla shit. Rather have "Iron City" ,or "Hop'n Gator".
Me, "Burp!", A.I., "OK, 'Redneck Mother'.", Me, "You know me so well." A.I.," Blip!"
HIlly-billy music.
and don't you forget it
I saw Jerry Jeff in1977 city park stadium new Orleans
In 1976 a gal from Texas transferred to our high school on the west Coast and she sang this in class❤
Had a blast listening to this at the Dixie chicken in college Station back in the early 80s
freaking perfect
That 70s show brought me here
I love a song but I love the fact Willie top shelf Nelson is still kicking ass all across Texas! You damn right you better go see Willie he is a National Treasure and you will regret it if you don't! You redneck mothers
That 70's show brought me here
I discovered this song from that 70s show. What a tune.
Me too ! 😂
Knew this song from the show but never knew who sang it. Never looked into it. Watching Joey diaz with Josh wolf and wolf dropped the name
'Hello, Mother. This is your son, Eric. I am not feeling well.' 😂
I heard Jerry Jeff do this song at the Ozmo Boogie out in Athol, ID in about 1978. A different world any way ya slice it
New riders of the purple sage also do a good version of this song. Saw many times in the 70's.
Good Song
Halo Wanda San y’a Ella’s lkahbat. Kouds
Aladin kahbat kouds
Oh the stories I could tell but if you love this song I expect you got ya own RIP JJW Miss ya bad
I am 69 , a Black woman and I love this song! Proud Southern, no one knows how to party like we do country 😊
God bless you!
I'm here cos I heard it on that 70s show😂 but now i feel home😊
❤❤❤
Why would your color make a difference?
@@joeyocom5087 I wonder...
I am from Manchester, England. I first heard this as a New Riders of the Purple Sage version around 1978. It just stuck with me. Fast forward to 2017 and a bar in Dallas, Texas with two local lads playing a selection of guitars and I heard that intro, you know the one. Total recall. I was up there singing it, a few words changed and missed here and there but they knew I knew. The Lone Star shone brightly that night.
Greetings from rural West Texas
You are an honorary Texan, mate. Welcome 😎
That Star always shines bright. Agree with J.R. Steel, honorary Texan now. Cheers.
